Theleitha Martin, CMHC Intern
I am a counseling intern working towards a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with an expected graduation date of December 2024. I hold a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, in December 2013. I am a member of the American Counseling Association. While I have not yet earned licensure, I am currently in internship adding hours of clinical experience to my time in practicum and years of life experience. My years serving as a Pharmacy Tech working with all walks of life compassionately lends itself to my growth as a therapist. Often in Pharmaceutical work, there were encounters that required much insight that developed even more over the years.
With my professionalism in Pharmaceuticals, I developed a greater desire to educate. I then began instructing, and still do, Pharmacy Tech coursework and CPR at the local community college. This fostered a fondness to increase my helping ability by beginning graduate school to become a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I have completed my practicum hours toward Licensure and participated in co-therapy during that time assisting with the client’s therapeutic experience. I will be working closely with my supervisor with each case as needed.
Currently, services are self-pay at $50.
